Comparison between IGCC power plant and gas turbine power plant

  • In order to make an objective comparison between IGCC power plant and gas turbine power plant,the data from two finished projects of China Power Investment Corporation Langfang,which were 2 × 400 MW IGCC power plant project and 2 × 400 MW gas thermal power engineering were analyzed. The operating experience of China and United States 2 × 400 MW IGCC power system and China Huaneng Group Tianjin Lingang economic zone 2 × 400 MW gas cogeneration engineering projects had good reference value. From the technical economic angle on IGCC power plant and gas turbine power plant,the emissions of air pollutants standard,actual attainable emissions targets,investment,fixed cost,variable cost,per unit cost and so on were compared. The results showed that the two plants had roughly similar emissions,while the cost of IGCC power plant was 37. 8% less than the cost of gas turbine power plant,so IGCC power plant was a more advantage alternative.
